Massachusetts Association of Healthcare Quality (MAHQ)

Program Committee

The MAHQ Program Committee is responsible for producing educational opportunities to help members stay current with quality improvement, while earning nursing CEUs and CPHQ continuing credits. These are available via webinars and conferences sponsored by the committee. Additionally the committee periodically provides networking opportunities for members of MAHQ. The committee also organizes a review course to help members prepare for the CPHQ certification exam. Another responsibility of the Program Committee is to organize and sponsor the annual MAHQ meeting, which includes a full day continuing education conference.

The committee generally meets once a month via the conference call. During this meeting, members discuss upcoming conferences as well as brainstorm future offerings for our members. The committee volunteers work together to arrange webinars, conferences and networking events. The time commitment is about 2 hours per month and is generally pretty manageable.

Our biggest event by far is our annual conference. This meeting begins with a report from our current president, as well as reports from all the chairpersons of the various committees. Volunteers from the Program Committee organize the event, determine the theme, arrange for keynote speakers, create evaluations and apply for the CEU credits.

The Program Committee is always looking for new volunteers. Participants can elect to help with such activities as finding a venue for a conference, hosting a webinar, securing the keynote speaker, or organizing the materials for a meeting, such as our annual CPHQ certification prep course. If you are interested, just send us an e-mail care of MAHQ Administrator!
